At Aberle and Wall, one of the most common questions we are getting right now is, “What is happening with my court date in light of the coronavirus”? Unfortunately, there hasn’t been an easy answer to that question. Over the course of the coronavirus pandemic, the court system has entered several phases. At times the courthouse has been completely shut down and at other times they have limited which courtrooms have been open and which clients need to be present. We completely understand why people may be confused about whether they need to show up for their court dates. We are working to stay on top of these changes and welcome your questions by phone, text or email.

Beginning on Monday, July 6th, the Guilford County courthouse will be resuming some previously shut down District Court proceedings in courtrooms 1B, 1C, 1D, and 2C. We have been told by court officials that they are still trying to limit the number of people who will be required to be present on their court dates. The best advice we can give our current clients is to contact our office to find out what we believe is best for your specific case.

We are not only committed to protecting your rights but also the health and safety of you and your family. We will make every effort to keep you from having to come to court unless it is absolutely necessary. If you are required to come to court and you do not have a mask, we will provide one for you.
